SANTIAGO DE CUBA, January - The idea of selling used clothing, which is now called recycled, is nothing more than what is known elsewhere as flea markets, where one can buy used clothing at very low prices.
The clothes come in bales, usually worn, faded, torn and dirty. They are distributed by several commercial concerns and are sold in the former stores of the almost phased-out Industrial Products Enterprise. The most significant are the large stores selling in the national currency. Some samples:
