Dissident groups open human rights office in Havana

HAVANA, August 20 (José Antonio Fornaris, Cuba-Verdad) - Several Cuban dissident and human rights groups have announced the opening of an office in Havana to coordinate the activities of all organizations engaged in civic resistance aimed at liberty and democracy on the island, said the announcement.

The statement also said the office will seek to publicize all human rights

violations reported to it and will analize the Cuban reality.

The National Office of Reception and Information about Human Rights is to be located at 3828 Praga Street, in the San Miguel del Padrón municipality of Havana. It will be represented abroad by Bill Barker, of the Presbiterian Church, in North Carolina.
