CAMAGÜEY, March 5 (Normando Hernández, CPIC / www.cubanet.org) -
Two officers of the Department of State Security (DSE) arrested independent
journalist Mirley Delgado, 32, in the streets of Ciego de Ávila Sunday
and questioned her at DSE headquarters.
"Two officers arrested me and took me to political police headquarters,
where after questioning, they threatened they would get me fired from my job as
a nurse in a medical facility if I didn't abandon my activities as a journalist,"
said Delgado. She was released after two hours.
Some here see Delgado's arrest as part of a repressive wave DSE operatives
launched about a week ago.
