Man arrested after loud protest

SANTA CLARA, Cuba, December 10 (Guillermo Fariñas Hernández, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org).- A man was taken in by police for loudly protesting at a local fish market, apparently after a three-hour wait he had to endure in order to score some fish croquettes still failed to deliver the goods.

The man, whose age was estimated at "over 70" by witnesses, stood up and started yelling: "They are starving us. My wife and I are retired and we don't have dollars."

A police car rolled up to the Pesca Villa market and officers took the man.

Responding to bystanders who expressed concern for the man's advanced age, one police officer said: "We'll just take him in and when he gets over his tantrum we'll let him go."
