Fuel-hog farm machinery taken out of service

HOLGUÍN, Cuba - March 12 (Guillermo Llanos Ricardo, Jóvenes sin Censura / www.cubanet.org) - Farm machinery that was deemed inefficient in fuel consumption was taken out of service in Banes municipality, Holguín province.

The measure followed inspections by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Sugar Industry.

On the "17 de Mayo" farm cooperative several old tractors of Soviet manufacture were idled.

One of the cooperative's workers who said he operated the machinery said they were now using draft animals to substitute for the tractors.
